Garda BikeSafe fully booked in 24 hours
BikeSafe was officially launched in Dublin on March 28th, 2023, and one of the first venues to hold a BikeSafe workshop was The Garda College, Kilkenny, Ennis/Clare on April 22nd, 2023.
The BikeSafe programme provides a workshop and an observed ride by a skilled Advanced Garda Motorcyclist, and is open to all riders with a full motorcycle licence.
Workshop participants were given individual feedback to identify their strengths and weaknesses, plus encouraged to implement safer riding habits and techniques.
Participants from Dublin, Kildare, Clare, Tipperary, and Meath attended the Garda College, Templemore. The Workshop included a classroom theory session, plus spin out under the watchful eye of our advanced motorbike instructors.
Inspector Grogan said: “My thanks to the very engaging group of participants and of course our instructors Sgt Andy Morrison, Gardai Sean Conlon, Mark Cullinane, Lorcan Looby and Tony Davis who were delighted to be back in the classroom and out on the road imparting their knowledge to the very eager participants.”
On the 23rd April 2023 Dublin Castle & Ballincollig/Cork hosted their own BikeSafe workshop which was likewise met with a very enthusiastic response. The demand for advanced motorcycle skills is clear to see from the speed with which our first BikeSafe workshops have booked, with all venues being 100% booked inside 24 hours. Feedback thus far has been unanimously positive.
